<note>This study aims to determine the environment and find the best conditions of environmental influences on the quality of palm oil fresh fruit bunches (Elaies guineensis Jacq.).
The research method used a block random design (RCBD) of 4 factors and 3 treatments namely bulk water, solar heat, bed and relative humidity. Repeated 3 times, there were 9 treatment blocks and a total of 36 treatment blocks. Parameters observed were levels of free fatty acids and moisture content. Data analysis with Analyze Of Variance (Anova) and Duncan test (DMRT) at 5% level.
Observations of solar heat in open spaces are significantly different from closed spaces. Relative humidity 89% is significantly different from 70%. Free fatty acid levels affected by the bulk environment of water, solar heat, bed and relative humidity showed no significant difference. Water content Fresh fruit bunches are influenced by the bulk water environment, which is significantly different from solar and base heat, but not significantly different from relative humidity. The conclusion is that free fatty acid levels and freshwater content of fresh fruit at the highest relative humidity compared to water, solar heat and base. Therefore, special supervision and treatment of fresh fruit bunches of palm oil is needed so that it can reduce losis levels of free fatty acids and moisture content in the loading ramp. Free fatty acid levels affected by the solar thermal environment in the treatment of open space showed the greatest number and the moisture content of fresh fruit bunches affected by the relative humidity in the 89% treatment showed the greatest number, the fresh fruit bunches loaded in the ramp were placed in a closed room and 70% humidity to slow levels of free fatty acids and moisture content of fresh fruit bunches
